Bio
My name is Chris Means.
I am a student at the University of Otago, preparing to do a
Bachelor of Contemporary Music.
Afterwards I plan to get a postgraduate Secondary Teaching
Diploma and become a music teacher.
I am a musician, I primarily play the drums, but also guitar and
bass.
I have previously recorded at york street studios, as well as
taught drums at my old highschool.
Currently I am working on a solo project which can be heard in
the audio section of this website.
I have worked with a few bands such as HOST, Iodus, and the
BTN's (Better than Nothing's)
and as a fill-in when needed for many more.
I have been drumming for just over 11 years now, and playing
guitar and bass for 5.
My gear is as follows:
Guitar: Westone spectrum ST, played though a Yamaha VX55 amp
with a Boss ME-50 effects pedal.
Bass: Aria II Premier.
Drums: 1967 Hayman Vibra Sonic 5-piece, Istanbul and Meinl
Cymbals.
Recording is done on my laptop using Ardour, running on Ubuntu
Hardy.
